Weekly Update – 28 March 2024

tree planting

An in-tree-guing design…

We installed our first tree pit by Speakers’ Corner this week. Our wonderful planning engineer Gemma is doing a fantastic job here of representing where the first tree will be placed just behind this wall unit. The black tree pit will be buried underneath the surface with the purpose of providing somewhere for the trees’ roots to have space to spread and grow.

We’re here to chair you up!

Here are some more examples of the lovely seating we have recently finished around Southsea Castle. It’s difficult to imagine after the recent weather we have had – but these gorgeous seating areas are perfect for sunshine picnics with a view, catching up with loved ones or just watching the world go by! The bottom photo also shows an example of some accessible seating with space to accommodate wheelchairs.

The Bridge

Love is an Open Dooooooorrrr…

Last week was national open doors week in the construction world and we welcomed three groups of students from a local school, a local college and a local youth charity. We talked about the scheme, what we are doing and why with some great conversations about careers in our industry and the different paths available. The students also braved the weather to see what was going on along our lovely Southsea seafront.

Easter at QA

Egg-cellent Easter!

We hopped over to the Queen Alexandra Hospital to donate some Easter eggs to the wonderful children’s ward there and hopefully spread some Easter cheer ready for this long weekend. Whatever this weekend has in store for you, we hope you have a fabulous one!
