Weekly update – 18 December 2020
Tidal conditions haven’t exactly been ideal for us this week, but we’ve made the best of the morning and evening tidal windows and works are progressing well.
Our favourite dredging vessel, the Sospan Dau, returned this week to rainbow material onto the west side of Spur Redoubt beach to form a second working platform. This work will continue over Christmas.
We’re continuing with sheet piling to the east of Spur Redoubt, and have removed the old defence toe structure so that we can start sheet piling on the west of Spur Redoubt in 2021.
At our Pier Road compound, perimeter paths have been laid for safe access and we’ve welcomed a resident fox who has already has made his stamp on the project!
We have also installed additional lighting on the diversion footpath north of the sports pitches and between Brewers Fayre and the Clarence Pier carpark compound site.
Happy holidays to all!
