Castle at night
An absolute delight at night!
The new lighting at Frontage 4 (Southsea Castle) has been connected! You may have seen our fantastic drone video (available on our Southsea Coastal Scheme YouTube channel) showing how fabulous this area of the seafront now looks at night time. Prior to our works, this area had no lighting and therefore was less inviting after dark. We hope you’ll all agree this is a vast improvement, allowing more people to enjoy the area.

Top of the rock
Last week we showed you a photo of the new steps leading up from The Rock Garden to what will be the new promenade on Frontage 5 (Pyramids to Speakers’ Corner). Here is the view from the top of those steps. To the left you can see the ramp leading to the volunteer lifeguards hut and the pre-cast concrete terrace units which will contain planters all the way up into Speakers’ Corner. From these steps pictured, the promenade will gently slope down to the stepped units lining the edge of the beach.

A league of their stone!
The stone wall that runs beside Blue Reef Aquarium was taken down earlier in the year in order for us to work in the area which will provide access to Frontage 4 (Pyramids to Blue Reef Aquarium) when it opens in late May. Traditional Stone has done a sterling job at expertly putting the stone wall back together. This is now complete and looks as good as new!

Considerately Constructing
The Considerate Constructors Scheme aims to raise industry standards by encouraging constructors to make positive contributions to the community, the environment and their workforce conditions. We're over the moon to have not only won a gold award, but also the Most Considerate Site award at this year’s National Considerate Constructors Scheme Awards.  Well done to the whole team!
