Week one update – 11 September 2020

It’s the end of week one – and what a lot has already happened!

Clarence Pier Car Park is closed, and works to fence off the site and to provide an alternative footpath along the side of Brewers’ Fayre have been completed, with a temporary ramp installed and parking signage removed to allow direct access from the existing footpath.

The main promenade will remain open until the footpath diversion is in place – likely to be completed in the week commencing 21 September.

Additionally, a drop kerb has been installed at the access point for the Pier Road compound. Works are due to begin next week on the installation of the haul road and office on this field. Permanent fencing will then be installed.

Overflow parking is available on Southsea Common over the weekends in September. Businesses also remain open. We will be installing more signage to ensure the community is informed.

We aim to keep you fully informed throughout the process so do let us know if you have any questions by emailing southseacoastalscheme@portsmouthcc.gov.uk
