Work is continuing at pace on the Southsea Coastal Scheme, with new bench bases, beach access points and sea defences taking shape between South Parade Pier and Speakers’ Corner.
Four new bench bases have now been poured, while 14 stepped revetments providing access between the promenade and beach have been installed. Concrete is also being poured into the pile caps next to South Parade Pier, an important part of the new sea defences.
The scheme team has also been engaging with the community through school visits and will be hosting a roadshow near Speakers’ Corner on 2 July, from 10am-1pm.
