Work is continuing along Southsea seafront, with major progress being made on new sea defences and public spaces.
At Frontage 5 East, crews have been installing concrete toe beams to secure the new stepped revetments, while beach material is now being reprofiled in front of completed sections. As with other completed areas, most of the steps will be covered by the beach, helping to maintain the required level of coastal protection.
Elsewhere, the new pedestrian ramp linking the promenade and road level is taking shape, with wall units now in place and preparations under way for future paving and lighting.
The project team also welcomed students from The Petersfield School, who visited the scheme as part of a coastal defence case study and toured the completed frontages.
