Meet the Team : Kirsty Barker

Myself and a small team in Exeter are leading on the public realm design for the Southsea Coastal Scheme. At LDA Design, we focus on people; making unique spaces that allow for life to unfold within.

I studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire. I originally looked into studying Architecture however I knew that I wanted to be involved with how people experience outdoor spaces (whilst trying to be outside more myself!).

I have been with LDA Design for seven years and it was in fact my first job after university. Being based in Exeter, I found the area to be fantastic so didn’t want to leave! I’m near to the beach and Dartmoor so can be out in the wilderness before I know it.

Over the past few months I’ve been getting back into work and new hobbies, after undertaking an expedition to row 3000 miles across the Atlantic. Myself and three other ladies completed the row in 43 days, it was a fantastic experience full of wildlife, sunsets and extreme tiredness!
